It Gets Better
What do you do when you can’t sleep at night?
I toss and turn, try to sleep, then give up and eat ice-cream. It is indeed quite a treat for someone who just isn’t getting any [sleep].
I am well-aware of putting up quality posts, but can I just defend myself by saying that I am a little out of it? Hey, I’m only human. I’ve suddenly lost that spark to write thanks to exhaustion and anxiety. Well, it happens.
Monday’s are hard for me. Not that I’m ridden with a lot of work to do, but mainly just getting over the weekend. Don’t get me wrong, I find myself leaning toward being excited about going to work by 40%, but the reality of it all, is that you have to get through one obstacle before you can enjoy your bowl of ice-cream. In this case, my weekend-recovery obstacle was my sleeping pattern. Always has been, and always will be.
Of course, a good work-out might help me fall asleep, but Sundays are meant for lazy couch-potato activities and book-reading. But I do enjoy a good hour of Yoga, but unfortunately, Yoga does not help me sleep. But Xanax does! Sadly, Xanax is out of reach from my grubby fingers, so I’ll stick to ice-cream and cable TV.
But despite all these disappointments, I did receive good news this morning where I will be getting a raise! I’ve been in this company as a copywriter for 6 months now, and without any formal training or a writing background, my boss says I truly deserve it. I think I do too! I smell a shopping spree! Though, I did just buy a bulk of work-appropriate clothes and my Urban Decay 15 Year Anniversary Eyeshadow Palette.
Look at all those colors. Amazing variety of nudes and bold shades. I can’t wait to play with the blues!
