…and the list goes on.

There’s one thing they never tell you about retail therapy; They never tell you that it leads to addiction and that it’s just a simple matter of keeping your mind distracted from all the harsh reality of, well..Reality.

Ugh, how I’d love to get down and slap Reality in the face for all the terrible things in the world like putting a Mini Bull Terrier to sleep simply because the owner was careless enough to leave his garbage chute open, which unfortunately left a senior citizen dead.

After ten bottles of nail polish, a couple of new lipsticks and coming to grips with that fact that I am developing under-eye bags, I looked up to the sky and said “That’s messed up”. And it really is!

I regard Mini Bull Terriers, Pitbulls and the like to be one of the most misunderstood breeds in the world.  Granted, I’ve never owned one, and if I am correct, there are countries that forbid citizens from caring for these breeds. Synonymously, banned! I am attracted to dogs of all breeds and there’s always something special that makes each breed unique. People mistake these breeds to be fighting dogs and serial chompers, but much like any other dog, they’re also loving and protective by nature.

So what’s the story behind this post? Old man takes a jog/walk. Mini Bull Terrior is excited by a moving stranger and escapes through garbage chute. Gets into aggressive state. Mauls old man to death. Dogs gets blamed and is put to sleep. Owners left with a warning and charged.

I was hoping the dog gets left with a warning, and the owners put to sleep for being so careless. When you have a pet that is known for it’s aggression, chances are you are going to start doing your homework to ensure that your neighbours don’t gets hurt or attacked by your dog. Living in Malaysia, some neighborhoods aren’t that safe for people to rear dogs. Just so we’re clear, there are Muslim extremists in Malaysia who dislike neighbors rearing dogs and WILL take matters into their own hands. For example, leaving food laced with poison. Yes, folks. There are people that do this. There are people that kidnap children for kidneys, there are people that kill in the name of religion, and there are people who kill animals whilst masking the killing in the name of religion.

Before I get blamed for being a judgmental hater, let me just say that if you’re in a situation where you’re hurting or killing an innocent animal, race, religion, or even deformity will not play a part in my quest to debase you. That sounded threatening. But I mean well. For the animals, at least

But anywho, I hated the fact that the dog was the one being ultimately punished and not the owners. Let’s put it this way – when you rear dogs that are potentially dangerous to people, do your homework and make sure that there is no way for your dog to get out of the house. Train your dog! Your mistake would only lead to an innocent animal being put to sleep for simply doing what is instinctive to him. I know dogs get vicious, and it’s not just limited to large dogs. Tiny dogs have the tendency to be a vicious as well, yet we find that amusing. That’s discrimination, folks! And that’s messed up!

And for mauling the guy to death, do not blame the dog. Blame the people for materializing the aggression from these breeds for their greed. I’m talking about dog fights and gambling. And blame the people who only rear these breeds and train them to be aggressive guard dogs. Pittbull Terriers are affectionate and loyal dogs. They love their owners and they’re great with children, especially for those who like to play rough! Like I said, Pitbulls are misunderstood. The more you harbour the aggression in a dog’s character, any breed, even the friendliest is bound to go crazy and attack.

So in the name of the poor dog who was put down for having a live chew toy, here’s to that one Pitbull Terrier, and here’s to other Pitbull Terriers, dogs and animals alike who are misunderstood in the minds of humans.
