I’m blogging from work. >.>
I woke up at 6.45am this morning.
Need. Morning. Coffee.
I got my dress from Trendy Confessions this morning at 9.45am, though. PosLaju, you never fail to deliver! Literally.
I would like to give a big, big thank you to Trendy Confessions for delivering this adorable little dress.
I tried it on and it fits absolutely well, except for the bust. Its not tight, but it doesn’t form the V-neck as it is supposed to, instead, it kinda covers my entire bust up, which is also a good thing. I am giving modesty a run for her money!
It has a Peplum-skirt with little pockets on the side. Its honestly very comfortable and I’m kinda digging the stiffness in the sleeves. It makes me posture look really good. The skirt is pleated from the waist, and its got a bit of a tulip-skirt effect. I reckon that might just be from the itsy-bitsy pockets on the skirt.
In a nutshell, I adore this dress, and I will soon put up a picture of myself in it along with some accessories.
I can’t believe I forgot to mention this. I’m a chubby Asian girl.
I’m a size 16(US or 18UK) and I’m 5’2. I’m busty, I have a belly and I have chunky thighs that rub together when I walk.
I hate it when my chunky thighs rub together when I walk. It makes skirt or dress-wearing adventures uncomfortable. So there you have it. I’m a Plus Sized Asian. Bikinis are my worst enemies and Peanut Butter Ice Cream is my best friend. I’m working on a relationship with celery but we’re trying to put aside our differences.
I don’t diet, but I watch what I eat. I don’t believe in diets, because everyone’s got the idea of diets all wrong. Wasn’t a diet supposed to be carefully planning a balanced lifestyle to aid some problem that’s harming your physical well-being? Do you really think starving is going to help you lose weight? I’ll tell you what you’ll lose. Hair. Self-esteem. And one of the many things that define your feminity. Some curves.
Let’s not kid ourselves. Everyone’s got some curves, but its a matter of how its embraced. A slender woman has curves and a number of them mistake their curves as fat and then go on crash diets.
Chubby women, you’re blessed with curves, so embrace them. Know your body shape. I mean whether your an Hourglass figure or Pear or Apple-shaped woman…Do a little bit of research and know what would complement your figure. Set your own trend. Celebrate your curves, look beautiful and have a Red Velvet Cupcake with cream cheese topping. Or Bread Pudding, oozing with creamy custard sauce, lightly dusted with cinnamon powder.

And forget following the trends. Sure, they look so pretty and tempting to own, but why look the same as everyone else? You, with your unique figure. Own that figure, girl!
Another bit, here. There’s been a lot of talk about what defines a woman. The figure, the boobs, the content of the nether regions, the curves. Here’s what I really think defines a woman; Class. So, we’re not all rich to emulate ‘classiness’, but let me put it in a different way. Being a lady. What is it about Audrey Hepburn that everyone adores so much apart from the style? The way she carried herself. Being feminine and demure, defines that sexiness in a woman. That was deemed attractive back in the olden days, so why does it have to change now? And men love it. Wear your confidence, ladies! You don’t need to show off your skin to be sexy.
Here are a few curvacious style icons that I find inspiring!
She of those killer curves, that fiery red hair and that bust line that makes us all want to hide and cry. I absolutely love her role in Mad Men. She’s independent, fiesty and makes simple sheath dresses look sooooo good. Ladies, you know what you need. A sheath dress! And here’s a tip. Don’t bother going to a store to buy one because you’ll never find the right size to fit (if you’re in Asia, of course). Go to a fabric store, pick out a few yards or metres of quality satin/cotton/silk in a deep and dark color (Dibs on Fucshia!), head to a tailor or dress-maker and get it made custom made for your delicate curves! Wear it with a lovely brooch and heels..And oh, you’ll look divine!
I think she makes a great role model for the younger crowd. Well-known for her role as Norah in Nick and Norah’s Infinite Playlist, she’s a starlet. She seems so down-to-earth and that’s what I love about her. She looks very versatile and I think she can rock anything!
Rocking the sheath
I still think they should make her Wonder Woman!
Also, I now have 1/2 of my packages arrive. Oh, Urban Bride kit, where are you?
So girls, who are you inspirational role models?
